Today’s adventure took us from Cortland down to Corning, where the Corning Museum of Glass was waiting to dazzle us. We spent about three hours wandering through shimmering galleries filled with glass in every shape, size, and color imaginable. Some pieces looked delicate enough to shatter if you sneezed, while others were so huge and bold they could have anchored a city plaza. The live demos were especially fun—watching molten glass twist and glow like a miniature sun before being coaxed into shape never gets old.

Once we’d had our fill of glass (and maybe dreamed up a few ideas for our own living room décor), we drove north toward Seneca Lake. The Finger Lakes wine country greeted us with rolling hills, postcard-worthy views, and the promise of tastings. We popped into a couple of wineries, sampling crisp whites and bold reds while enjoying the laid-back charm of the lake. Each stop felt like its own little pause button on the day.

We headed back to our Airbnb in Cortland. Not a bad mix for one day: art, science, wine, and just enough road-tripping to tie it all together.
