Visiting two of New York City’s most iconic landmarks—the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island—and it was quite the adventure from start to finish!

The day kicked off at Battery Park, where we boarded the ferry that would take us first to Liberty Island. The ferry ride itself was refreshing and scenic, with great views of the Manhattan skyline behind us and plenty of photo ops. The breeze off the harbor was just perfect, and the excitement was definitely building as the Statue of Liberty came into view. Seeing Lady Liberty up close is truly impressive, way bigger and majestic than photos can capture. We spent some time soaking in the views, snapping pictures, and exploring the museum on the island that tells the fascinating story of how the statue came to be.

After soaking in the magic of Liberty Island, we hopped back on the ferry for a short ride over to Ellis Island. The ferry ride gave us another chance to relax and enjoy the beautiful waters around New York Harbor. Ellis Island was surprisingly moving; walking through the Immigration Museum where millions of immigrants first stepped on American soil really gives you a powerful sense of history and connection. We used the handy audio guides, which made the experience even more personal and informative.

Wrapping up the day, we boarded the ferry once again for our trip back to Battery Park. The return ride was just as lovely as the first, a perfect way to wind down after a day rich with history and stunning views.

If you’re planning a trip to NYC, don’t miss this combo. The ferry rides add an extra bit of charm and adventure to the whole experience, and both islands are filled with stories worth hearing. Just be sure to book your tickets in advance to avoid the lines!
