What a whirlwind of a day! We packed so much into our trip to Sedona and the Montezuma area, and Lucky was the perfect little travel companion. It’s amazing how much more vibrant everything feels when you’re sharing it with your furry best friend.

We started with Montezuma Well. It was so serene and mysterious. The sheer volume of water bubbling up from the earth was captivating, and imagining the ancient people who relied on it for survival was humbling. Lucky seemed to sense the quiet reverence of the place, just sniffing around the edges and keeping close. The contrast between the lush greenery surrounding the well and the arid landscape beyond was striking.

Next, Montezuma Castle. I’d seen pictures, of course, but standing there, looking up at that ancient cliff dwelling nestled into the rock face, was something else entirely. It’s a testament to the ingenuity and resourcefulness of the Sinagua people. I wondered what their daily lives were like, living in such a dramatic and beautiful setting. Lucky seemed a bit perplexed by all the people, but he was a good boy and stayed close.

Then, Sedona. Oh, Sedona! The red rocks are even more breathtaking in person. The sheer scale and the vibrant hues are almost overwhelming. We walked around, soaking in the energy of the place. Lucky enjoyed all the new smells and the attention from other visitors. The organic taco truck was a delicious and unexpected treat. The tacos were fresh and flavorful, and it was the perfect casual lunch for a day of exploring. I loved the laid back vibe.We decided to drive up to Flagstaff for dinner, just to change things up.

The drive was beautiful, with the golden hour light illuminating the landscape. We were all tired, but happy and content. For dinner, we decided on Dehli Indian in Flagstaff. It was the perfect way to end the day. The warm, fragrant spices were so comforting, and it was nice to relax and reflect on our adventures. Lucky, of course, was thrilled with any scraps that might have fallen his way. Then we drove back to our cozy Airbnb in Montezuma.
