A Snowy Journey to Amarillo

Today’s snowy adventure took us from Albuquerque to Amarillo, with the world outside transformed into a quiet, frosted wonderland. Lucky, our ever-adorable travel companion, spent much of the drive curled up and snoozing contentedly, saving his energy for the stops along the way.

One of the most memorable moments of the day was our visit to the Cadillac Ranch. The vibrant graffiti-covered cars were an incredible sight, their bold colors standing out against the snowy, muted landscape. The field, however, was extremely muddy, making each step a careful, squelchy endeavor. Lucky perked up at this stop, hopping out of the car to explore the snowy, muddy field with his characteristic curiosity. He left his own set of pawprints in the snow and mud, adding his little mark to the experience. Grace and I braved the slippery conditions to soak in the iconic art and snap a few pictures. It was messy, cold, and absolutely worth it.

The day also required a bit of logistical ingenuity, as we carefully calculated our charging stops to ensure we’d reach each station without trouble. In the freezing temperatures, this added an extra layer of challenge, but teamwork and planning saw us through.

By evening, we arrived at our cozy Airbnb. Grace and I ventured downtown for dinner at Nomad Napoleona, where the warm ambiance and flavorful pizza were exactly what we needed after a long day. Lucky snoozed peacefully in the car, likely dreaming of snowy fields and muddy adventures, while we enjoyed some quiet, wellearned time together.

Today was a day of contrasts—cold and warmth, adventure and rest, mud and artistry. Through it all, sharing these moments with Grace and Lucky made every step of the journey special.
