Today we set out on a full-day adventure to Cape Cod, leaving Chelsea around 9am and returning just about twelve hours later. Our route took us along the scenic and historic Route 6A, winding through charming villages and past rolling sand dunes, salt marshes, and glimpses of the ocean.
Our first stop was Barnstable, where we took some time to explore the quaint town center. It’s a classic Cape Cod village—quiet, walkable, and full of colonial character. From there, we continued on to Dennis, where we visited the Cape Cod Museum of Art. The museum had an impressive collection of regional artwork, and it was a peaceful and inspiring stop.

Hunger crept in, so we grabbed a quick bite at 7 Days, a low-key spot perfect for a fast and satisfying lunch. Fueled up, we headed toward Brewster, where we took a relaxing stroll through the village. With its sea captain homes and shady trails, Brewster had a quiet charm that felt like stepping back in time.
Our next destination was the Province Lands Visitor Center, perched near the tip of the Cape. The views from there were stunning—sweeping vistas of Cape Cod Bay and the surrounding dunes. It’s the kind of spot that makes you stop and just breathe it all in.

We rolled into Provincetown next and made a beeline for the Provincetown Art Association and Museum. It had a great mix of contemporary and traditional art and gave us a real sense of the vibrant creative energy that defines P-Town.

As the sun began to lower, we walked over to MacMillan Pier. The harbor was alive with the sounds of the boats, seagulls, and people milling about. We walked the length of the pier, taking our time to check out the various boats docked there—everything from fishing vessels to sleek charter boats.

After a long and full day, we began the drive home. We made one final stop at Remo’s Pizzeria for dinner. The pizza hit the spot, and we made sure to get a side of chicken tenders for Lucky, who had been very patient all day. It was well past his dinnertime, and he let us know with a few whines—he was clearly ready to eat and rest!
We pulled back into Chelsea around 9pm, tired but happy. It was a long day packed with art, nature, and classic Cape Cod experiences. Definitely one for the memory books!
