A Stop at the Buffalo AKG Art Museum

On our way from Niagara Falls to our Airbnb in Cortland, NY, we made a special stop at the Buffalo AKG Art Museum. After the roar and mist of the falls, it was quite the contrast to step into the quiet, open galleries filled with color, texture, and imagination.

The museum itself was a treat—both modern and welcoming, with an impressive mix of classic and contemporary works. We wandered from room to room, taking our time with the different exhibits. Some pieces challenged us to look twice, others made us smile right away, and a few had us puzzling over what exactly the artist had in mind (which is half the fun of visiting a modern art museum).

The AKG is not overwhelming in size, which made it perfect for a road trip stop. We could take it all in without feeling rushed, yet it still offered a rich variety of art that felt both inspiring and refreshing. After our visit, we got back on the road toward Cortland, carrying with us a little extra creativity to balance out the miles of highway ahead.
